Madhuri is back .... Aaja Nachle

Director: Anil Mehta
Cast: Madhuri Dixit, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kunal Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna, Ranvir Shorey, Irfan Khan
Music: Salim Merchant, Sulaiman Merchant
Cinematographer: Anil Mehta
Story: Jaideep Sahni
Producer: Aditya Chopra
Madhuri is back , after a long gap following her marriage. She still looks ravishing in the stills with her alluring smile and graceful dancing movements.
The story revolves around a dancer and her pursuit to save the institution developed by her guru.

Dia (Madhuri Dixit), a dancer, is in New York. She gets a shock of her life when she gets a call from India. The call conveys that her beloved guru Makarand (Darshan Zariwala) is dying. Now she has to return to Shamli town, where she grew up, and learnt to live and to dance. It is also the town she left severing ties with her parents and her people following a misunderstanding with them.
She comes back to her town. It is a poignant and troubled return. Her guru passed away. Worse, the institution that he so lovingly nurtured is in decay and under threat of getting demolished.
It is Ajanta theatre, which was once functioning as vibrant hub of the community. Dia's fondest memories are embedded in the place. It is now on the verge of being brought down because the local political authorities feel it a waste of prime real estate.

Dia, the dedicated student, sets out on a mission to prevent the destruction and resurrect the spirit of Ajanta. She gets the help of the Doctor (Raghubir Yadav), the caretaker of Ajanta.
The atmosphere is not encouraging. It is filled with doubt, cynicism and hostility. Amidst this environment, Dia picks up the gauntlet with the determination of saving the place. She plans to achieve a near impossible task of putting together a theatrical production. She must ensure that every member of the production is from Shamli town. The bulldozers are waiting. She has only two months to prove her point.
It is a strenuous struggle. She has to deal with a lot of prejudices, encounter the resentment of the powerful contractor, tackle the cynicism of the local political powers, resolve the delicate tensions of inter personal relationships. Apart from this, she has to rally her motley team of non starters to create the production.

She has to deal with a raw team - a team consists of low level muscle Imran (Kunal Kapoor), the local tomboy Anokhi (Konkona Sen), local ex-MLA Chaudhary Om Singh (Akhilendra Mishra), a vulnerable tea stall owner Mohan Sharma (Ranvir Shorey), a responsible government official Mr. Chojar (Vinay Pathak), a struggling insurance agent Sanjeev Mehta (Jugal Hansraj), and the town vagabond Dhankuber (Nowaz).
She is determined to tackle everything to save Ajanta. She wants to preserve what her guru so lovingly nurtured.
The movie is releasing on November 30 ,this friday.

Captain Kumble new innings- Ind vs Pak 1 st Test match

Kumble perfect 10 at the same venue against the same opponents now cricketing lore, Anil Kumble would renew his tryst with Ferozeshah Kotla when he makes his debut as Indian captain in the first of the three Test matches against Pakistan starting here from Thursday.
Given a choice, Kumble would have loved to roll the 22-yard Kotla strip, pack it in his bag and take it home after he claimed all 10 wickets in Pakistan's second innings in that unforgettable second Test in 1999.
Since then, Kumble has become one of the most senior players in the dressing room, and when he walks out for the toss with counterpart Shoaib Malik, he would expect the Kotla to be as benign as it was eight years ago.
The beginning, however, has not been auspicious. The bowling attack lost some of its teeth and firepower with the vastly improved RP Singh and highly inflammable S Sreesanth reduced to benchwarmers by injuries.
RP has been in red hot form since the UK tour, while Sreesanth proved he is as much a wicket-taker with the ball as a rabble-rouser with his antics.
Though Munaf Patel and Ishant Sharma have been rushed in as cover, the void would be hard to fill. Till Munaf joined the squad, Kumble had at his disposal two pacers Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan against three spinners Harbhajan Singh, Murali Kartik and himself.(Source:India times)
